Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

Through SCORE Southern Arizona, I mentor over 30 small business clients, from aspiring entrepreneurs to existing business owners. By and large, my clients lack financial literacy and basic business bookkeeping that prevents them from using conventional banking resources for funding growth. I work with microlenders and am always looking to become involved with organizations with a creative mindset to help underserved business become sustainable.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

A key element is the commitment of the entrepreneur to the business. To the extent that the business is their primary source of income, I assess their performance in securing and servicing clients, pricing, of products/services, collecting receivables and the viability of their growth plan. As with any lender, if there is no collateral, what is the business owner's ability to repay the loan.
