Borrower Due Diligence
- How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?
- MIB will only endorse borrowers who have received the Made In Baltimore Business Certification. In order to receive this certification, businesses must be registered and in good standing in the State of Maryland (verified via state tax ID databases) and be producing a physical product in Baltimore City (verified by a site visit to their place of production). In addition, borrowers must have a formal interview with MIB staff regarding their plans for use of borrowed funds, and their plans for repayment.
