Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

I was previously a trustee with Good Eggs, and I really loved getting to support local farmers and foodmakers access funding to sustain and expand their businesses. In the world we live in now, with extreme weather, pandemics and supply chain issues, I think having many options for supporting our food community with planned and unplanned financial needs is important to me as a businessperson.

THE BI-RITE FAMILY OF BUSINESSES IS A SAN FRANCISCO INSTITUTION ON A MISSION OF CREATING COMMUNITY THROUGH FOOD.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

Previously I have used the following markers as indicators of a potentially successful borrower: 1. Communicates easily and well with my team 2. Able to follow instructions and provide needed documentation 3. Is in good standing with our organization - delivers on time, provides credits when appropriate, has good working relationships 4. If they have employees, their employees are treated well and are paid on time 5. Other vetting dependent on category For due diligence, I check with our direct contact team members (like category managers or buyers), our accounting department, our receiving teams. I also check with other shared partners, like external distributors or business advisors.
