Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

Jonathan Moran Woodworks is interested in becoming a Kiva Zip Trustee to help create opportunities for local, small businesses. We hope that becoming a trustee will give other small businesses the option to expand their business as it did for us in 2013.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

We had been asked by Eliza Bowman from Eliza's Oven if we would be interested in endorsing her. My husband & I were happy to do that for her as she very much deserves to have this opportunity. Eliza is a very ambitious, dedicated & hard working business owner. We got to know Eliza through the Pittsburgh Public Market where we both had our businesses. She offers a wonderful product that consists of handcrafted cakes & pastries that are infused with the flavors of local craft beverages. She has expanded her product & is now offering savory pies & breads. Eliza has a true entrepreneurial spirit & knows what it takes to succeed. The due diligence we will conduct will be to follow -up w/ her on a mthly. basis to be sure she is continuing to make her pmts. on time.
