Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

The MWCDC is a non-profit community development corporation that interacts with a wide variety of local businesses at various points in their development, from new start-ups to established businesses and everything in between. We are constantly searching for additional ways to connect both new and established businesses to the funding they need in order to be successful, and Kiva Zip offers a flexible and innovative tool that complements existing financing options.

What is the mission of your organization?

The MWCDC mission is to cultivate growth, development, and community investment in the neighborhoods of Mount Washington and Duquesne Heights.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

Kiva Zip applicants will be vetted by MWCDC staff and will be judged based on project feasibility, organizational capacity and track record. Due diligence will vary based on project type, but at a minimum will require a borrower to submit a project proposal and narrative, a copy of their business plan, and any applicable licenses, permits, and/or certifications.
