Partner description:

Founded in April 2014, Moringa School enables young people who are passionate about technology to become top mobile and web developers in Nairobi's fast-growing tech scene. Moringa School’s skills training is conducted through an immersive and intensive 16-week program, followed by placement into high-value employment.

In Kenya, access to quality higher education and especially education in technology, is severely lacking. Yet, Nairobi has become the African hub for innovation, with jobs being filled largely by international workers. Because of these two factors, the unemployment rate remains high for Kenyan graduates.

Moringa School gives young Kenyans and other young people from across the region a chance to tap into the booming technology market and gain valuable coding skills. Graduates have a 100% job placement rate and an average 350% salary increase over their previous employment.

Unique lending approach
Moringa School is a world-class coding accelerator with an education to employment model and a 95% job placement rate. Loans funded on Kiva will help students complete Moringa School's 5-week Moringa Prep and 19-week Moringa Core coding programs, positioning them to access well-paid technology jobs. Through highly trained teachers and a curated curriculum, Kiva loans through Moringa aim to help create the next generation of world-class developers in Africa. Moringa works with over 40 technology companies as hiring partners.
