Mai's story

Mai, a 55-year-old single mother from Yên Định District, is striving to create a better future for her son through farming and livestock raising.

After divorcing her husband, she now lives with her middle, school-aged, son in an old, deteriorating house. Her primary source of income comes from cooking meals for a stone workshop, earning only around $270 per month, which classifies her household as low-income.

With over 15 years of farming experience, Mrs. Mai has decided to take her first loan from Thanh Hóa MFI. She plans to use the funds to repair her livestock shelter, purchasing materials such as bricks, cement, sand, iron, roofing sheets, and a biogas system. A better facility will allow her to raise healthier livestock, ultimately improving her financial stability.

One of her main challenges is living far from the town center. Looking ahead, she dreams of supporting her son's education, earning enough to provide for his future, and one day building a new house for their family.
