Bolodinyogonma Group's story
Soungoura is 54 years old and works with lifestock. She is a widow and the grandmother of five grandsons and 4 granddaughters. Three attend school. She benefits from 25 years of experience in her sector, despite having never attended school.
She tends to her flock in the court of her home where she has access to a reliable source of water which allows her to best care for her animals, as well as isolate them from other animals which cannot enter.
In order to realize her dream, Soungoura has partnered with RMCR in order to take out loans, which allow her to explore modern livestock techniques.
Soungoura buys her livestock at the local marketplace, and resells them in the same place to her loyal clientele. The profits from her sales allow her to support her family. Soungoura is the president of their group, and is photographed holding the goat above.
