Marie

Meet Marie, a dedicated 60-year-old single mother of six children, all of whom are currently in school and live with her at home. Marie is a hardworking entrepreneur who has been running her medicine-selling business for 25 years. She learned the trade from her mother and started the business using her own savings.

Marie uses a motorcycle to transport supplies to her business site, and she faces no significant challenges with her sales. She operates her business six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, and has built a strong customer base over the years.

Recently, Marie applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner, to help grow her business. She plans to use the loan to purchase additional varieties of medicines to offer to her loyal clients. She enjoys her business because it generates a steady profit, and her long-term dream is to build a house for her family.
