Justine's story

Justine is 44 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children, with 4 of them currently in school.

For the past 10 years, Justine has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells motor spare parts.

To help expand her business, Justine has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more spare parts for resale.

It will help Justine to generate greater profits, and she will manage to buy food for her family and take good care of herself.

Justine hopes that in the future she will be able to expand her business more.

She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
