Sharatu's story

Sharatu is a 40-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and children in the Nanumba South district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her business in the sale of clothes. She used the profit she earned to reinvest in her business.

Sharatu is requesting another loan to buy a variety of clothes and fabrics to meet her customers' expectations. She plans to use the profit she earns to support her family's daily needs.

She will repay the "social interest" on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor. She will lead sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
