Resty
A loan of $425 helps to purchase more raw food and vegetables for resale in her store.

Resty's story
Resty is 43 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. She is married and has 5 children, 2 of whom are currently in school. For the past 3 years, she has been working hard to manage her grocery store, in which she sells raw food.
To help expand her business, Resty has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more raw food and vegetables for resale. This will help her to generate greater profits and improve her family's standard of living by providing them with enough food and meeting their basic needs.
Resty hopes that in the future she will be able to acquire land and build a home. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
