Nuliyati
A loan of $425 helps to buy food and vegetables to resell.

Nuliyati's story
Nuliyati is 40 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Makindye region of Uganda. For the past 12 years, she has worked hard to manage her grocery store, where she sells uncooked food. To help expand her business, Nuliyati has requested a loan for 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. She will use the loan to buy more food and vegetables to sell, which will help her generate greater profits and provide her family with essential needs.
Nuliyati hopes that in the future she will be able to acquire land and build a house. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small-group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
