Thúy's story

Mrs. Thúy, a 40-year-old ethnic minority woman in Vietnam, lives with her family in Ngọc Lặc District. She has two children who are still in school: one in 11th grade and the other in 9th grade, both of whom depend on her.

With over 15 years of farming experience, she also works as a grass cutter for local households to earn extra income. However, due to unstable job opportunities, her family remains classified as a low-income household in the community.

This is Mrs. Thúy’s second loan with Thanh Hóa MFI, as her previous loan helped improve her family’s living conditions. She is determined to secure this loan to invest in acacia tree cultivation, supplementing her existing savings to purchase more seedlings.

Her plan is to nurture these trees over five years and later sell them to traders for additional income. Beyond financial benefits, this also contributes to environmental protection by preventing soil erosion. However, one of the challenges she faces is that her home is far from the town center, making access to resources more difficult.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Thúy dreams of a healthier and happier family, earning enough to support her children’s education and save for her old age. She hopes that her hard work will lead to financial stability and a better future for her family.
