Thắm's story

Ms. Thắm, a 37-year-old widow, faces many challenges as the sole provider for her family in Nông Cống District. She has two young children who are still in school and depend entirely on her.

To support her family, she works in agriculture and takes on additional jobs such as garment processing and weaving sedge mats for local households. However, her work is not stable, and despite her efforts, she and her children remain part of a low-income household in the community.

This is Ms. Thắm’s second loan with Thanh Hóa MFI. The previous loan helped her improve her family's living conditions, and she now seeks additional funding to invest in livestock farming. She plans to use the loan to purchase some breeding cows, which will allow her to raise and sell calves to local traders. Since she lives in a mountainous area with an abundant natural food supply for cattle, raising cows is a cost-effective way to generate income.

However, one of her main challenges is that her home is far from the central market, making it difficult to sell her products at competitive prices.

In the future, Ms. Thắm hopes her children will excel in school and secure good jobs. She dreams of earning enough to support their education and ensuring that the products she sells can fetch higher prices, ultimately helping her build a more stable and prosperous life for her family.
