Naima
A loan of $1,925 helps to buy more soft drinks, such as sodas and water, to sell.

Naima's story
Naima is 54 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has seven children, with four of them currently in school. For the past 15 years, Naima has been working hard to manage her beverages business, where she sells soft drinks.
To help expand her business, Naima has requested a loan of 7,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more soft drinks, such as sodas and water, to sell. This will help Naima to generate greater profits and her production will increase and attract more revenue. She will manage to provide basic needs for her family such as food and clothes for her children.
Naima hopes that in the future she will be able to start a produce business in rice. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
