This 22-member group was created in 2011, at the same time as the banc villageois. There are good connections between the members. They are all involved in farming. Madame Fatou, standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group's leader. She is 63 years old. She is married and has eight children, including five boys. Madame Fatou raises chickens. She has nearly fifteen years' experience. She buys her supplies at the main weekly market and then sells her produce at the market in the capital . She uses the proceeds to cover her daily expenses, pay for her children's education and increase her savings.
