Karen Laura's story
I am an independent musician in Tacoma, WA. It can be challenging to be an independent musician. We have to wear many hats. In one day we might work on our website, do songwriting, book gigs, rehearse with other musicians, and try to grow in our music skills. It can be overwhelming to know where to go for further education and for support.
When I met Tara, local pianist and vocalist, we realized we were facing many of the same challenges. Actually, most musicians are struggling with these same things. This inspired us to start Momentum, an organization that helps musicians feel inspired, connected and empowered to build momentum on their music journey.
We are a reliable resource for local musicians so that they can be a part of a team and receive the support they need to thrive.
