Danjuma
A loan of $475 helps to access quality farm inputs and services.

Danjuma's story
After losing his job, Danjuma returned from the city to his village in Bauchi, Nigeria some years ago to begin maize farming. Like many other farmers in his community, the income he earns from cultivating is not sustainable enough to enhance the standard of living of his family.
Before joining Babban Gona, Danjuma's challenges as a farmer included a lack of access to quality inputs, very low income, lack of access to premium markets, lack of storage facilities, lack of training and education, and poor farming practices. However, with the training provided by Babban Gona, he was able to get the maximum output from his farm.
Now, there is an increase in the cost of fertilizers due to political tensions, and Danjuma is therefore requesting an increased loan to buy better-yielding seeds, fertilizers, and other important agricultural inputs to improve his farming operations and boost his yield, enabling him to generate earnings of up to twice the average Nigerian farmer's annual income. Danjuma plans on using his profits to build a better house for his family, access better health facilities for his family, open an agro dealer shop, pay his children's school fees, buy books and uniforms for his children, and purchase additional farmland for a bigger harvest next season.
