Micaela Adriana Elizabeth's story

Twenty-eight year old Micaela, an ambitious mother of three children who range in age from two to nine. She has a ninth grade education. Her husband works as a bank teller in their community in the department/state of Suchitepequez. Seven years ago, Micaela opened her business selling backpacks, casual clothing, blouses, tee shirts, socks and makeup from her home. She also sells online and makes deliveries. One of her sisters helps her with the business.

She wants to enlarge the business and showcase her merchandise in a store. Micaela requests a Kiva loan to buy shoes, spandex sports clothing for women, casual clothing and makeup.

As a child, Micaela could not continue her education because her parents lacked resources. However, she is determined to take her business to the next level. She is motivated to learn and achieve progress. She joined the Friendship Bridge “Bridge to Success” program after being a member of a Trust Bank. For four to six months, she meets with a Facilitator who helps her form an action plan and set goals. She receives targeted training and is learning about how to manage her loan and business more efficiently, the dangers of over-indebtedness and other useful topics. The program will help her gain self-confidence and focus.

Thank you, Kiva lenders, for helping Micaela take big steps toward a more successful future! You are very much appreciated!!
