Luz
A loan of $1,025 helps to purchase a motorcycle that will facilitate the transportation of her harvest to the processing plant.
Luz's story
Luz is an indigenous farmer from Caldono, Cauca, with 25 years of experience. She owns a one-hectare farm assigned to her by the indigenous council, where she has more than 5,000 coffee plants and 300 banana trees, which she harvests every three weeks, ensuring a regular collection.
She currently transports this production in an old cart to the processing plant, where the coffee undergoes proper fermentation, washing, and drying processes—methods Luz carefully applies to preserve the flavor and quality of her coffee.
Luz lives with her husband and three children in a house built on her farm. Her family plays a crucial role in the collection and management of the crops.
A loan of $4,238,584 COP will allow Luz to purchase a motorcycle that will optimize the transportation of her harvest to the processing plant, improving the logistics of her crops. In Colombia, motorcycles are essential tools for farmers, as they facilitate the transportation of inputs and products across difficult terrain, optimizing both time and costs.
