William's story
My name is William, and I’ve been running I Luv Elotes for nearly five years. The journey started in July 2020, during the pandemic, when I found myself out of work and in need of a way to support my family. With my last unemployment checks, I took a leap of faith and bought a food cart. It wasn’t just about selling elotes—it was about creating something meaningful for my family’s future.
I started the business alongside my son, who was just 11 years old at the time. Together, we worked hard to build a strong customer base and connect with the community. Through dedication and persistence, our efforts paid off. After two years, we had grown enough to purchase a food truck, taking our dream to the next level.
What keeps me motivated is showing my sons the value of hard work, perseverance, and the possibilities of building something bigger than yourself. I want them to see that it’s possible to create generational wealth while giving back to the community.
My inspiration comes from my mother. She raised me and my two older brothers on her own, demonstrating incredible work ethic and determination. Watching her make a way out of no way instilled values in me that I now strive to pass on to my sons and the youth in my community.
Through I Luv Elotes, I hope to show that determination and good work ethic can build more than financial stability—it can lay the foundation for a legacy that uplifts not just your family but also the community around you.
