Doorwar Group
A loan of $2,775 helps a member to buy and sell sheep in the neighborhood area.
Doorwar Group's story
Ms. Marwane is the president of the group Doorwar, which means worker in Wolof. She, 42, is an animal raiser. She is sitting in front and holding the sheep horn with her left hand. Married to an emigrant and having 5 dependent children aged 7 to 17, all of whom are in school, she is a solvent client of VFS. She has done this business for more than 6 years. With this loan she plans to buy animals (sheep, goats). This will permit her to increase her business and grow her revenue.
To stock up, she goes to the weekly markets in her area and then resells them in the neighborhood and the surrounding zones. The revenue that she realizes permits her to take care of family needs (health, food, education, sanitation). Among the difficulties that she faces one could list strong competition and the high cost of the animals.
Ms. Marwane says she wants to open a large farm in the future.
