Mastullah's story
Mastullah is 40 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children with 3 of them currently in school.
For the past 7 years, Mastullah has been working hard to manage her fish business, which sells fish. To help expand her business, Mastullah has requested a loan of 4,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (UGX) from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more silver small fish for sale and will help Mastullah increase her production and revenue and generate greater profits. With this she will manage to provide basic needs for her family like food and clothes. Mastullah hopes that in the future she will be able to boost more sales in her fish business.
She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
