Julia Esperanza

Julia Esperanza's story

Julia Esperanza and her family live in the canton of Olmedo, a place known for its beautiful landscape and for its hardworking people who work in farming and the raising of animals.

She is a woman who is looking for a way to gather her resources and with them to help her husband with their household expenses. She can do this with the help of the loans and for this she is very thankful.

She works raising free range chickens. She gathers the eggs and some she sells and others she leaves to incubate and thus have more chicks.

She also works making empanadas and corviche [fritter made with plantain and fish]. She sells in the afternoon and on the weekend, she makes fish bollos and pork bollos [typical tamale-type food]. These, she sells from her home or one of her children takes them to Manta where there are many customers.

This loan is to buy feed for the chickens as well as peanuts, fish, pork, and other groceries to prepare food.
