Rukhasan And Group's story
Rukhasan is the 27-year-old, featured borrower raising her hand in the picture. She lives in a small village called Thakurganj in the Kishanganj district of Bihar. She aims to support her husband in their paddy and rice business. Her husband buys paddy directly from the fields, processes it, packages it, and sells it in the local market. With a household of five, Rukhasan's family has a monthly income of INR 25,000 and saves INR 12,500. She hopes to increase their income and improve their livelihood.
A loan of INR 280,000 from Grameen Shakti, one of Milaap's field partners, will enable her to help her husband expand their stock of paddy and sell more in the local market. She is joined by her friends, who also aspire to growing their respective businesses and achieving a better standard of living.
