Sabougnouma Group's story

Minata is the one in the photo holding the goat’s tether. She is Malian, 45 years old, married to a farmer, and the mother of three girls (the youngest aged 18), all provided with schooling.

Minata’s secondary work involves raising livestock (sheep and goats). She buys and sells at the commune’s market. From her sales, she can have a profit of 20,000 francs CFA per head, minus a portion for family expenses. And the rest is added to business accounts. Minata has been in this business for about five years. During this time, she has been confronted with some difficulties, such as epidemics and costly fodder.

She is requesting an RMCR loan to grow her business by buying more goats and to care for them, so as to earn a lot for preparing for her children’s future. She dreams of being the greatest livestock farmer in the village.
