Dienoudiala Group's story

This two-member group was created at the same time as the banc villageois in 2010. The members get on well together, and they both raise sheep and goats.

Sira, standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 43 years old, married, and has five children including one boy, all of whom go to school.

Sira raises and sells sheep and goats. She has many years' experience in this field. She buys her supplies at the big market in her neighbourhood, then sells the sheep and goats to her neighbours and to certain grilled meat shops in the area. Her sheep and goats are much appreciated by her customers.

With her profits, she will pay for her grandchildren's schooling, support her children and build up her savings.

In this group: Sira, Mariama
