Ang Nua 148 Group's story

Thinh is an ethnic minority mother of two children living in a stilt house in Dien Bien, the northwest of Vietnam. In this province, agriculture plays an important part in people’s lives and is also her family’s main source of income.

Being a widow, she has to do a variety of work to earn a living and livestock rearing is the main one. As for her, raising pigs is reasonable because she has many years of related experience; therefore, pigs at her farm are always healthy and rarely get infected. Moreover, she also cultivates rice and coffee to get extra income.

She decided to take this loan for the purpose of buying sows and feed for them. If this investment is profitable, she will be able to afford fertilizer for her coffee field. Currently, her children are mature and work as hired laborers to support her in living expenses. Therefore, she hopes her family will have a stable income to have a better life. With the support of Anh Chi EM staff and Kiva lenders, she strongly believes that she will overcome all the challenges that she is facing.
