Valau
A loan of $550 helps to purchase more pandanus for her weaving business.
Valau's story
Valau is a mother of seven grown up children and a grandmother of four. She is married to a farmer. They all live in their own house. Her husband spends his time in their own field to plant crops to feed the family and also to sell to the local people. Valau runs this weaving business on her own. She can weave the taovala, mats and fihu. She can pay another woman to help her perform the weaving. She earns a good income from her weaving, and her husband tends the crops weekly and sometime daily. She takes part in selling her taovala and the crops both locally and overseas. This loan can help her buy more pandanus for her weaving business, and she will be able to continue running this weaving business in the future.
