Samsur And Group
A loan of $1,900 helps a member to expand their weaving business by selling more hand-woven saris, gamcha, etc.
Samsur And Group's story
Samsur, a 32-year-old from North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal, lives in a household of four with an income of INR 25,000. She runs a Tant weaving business, crafting traditional Bengalese items like Tant sarees and gamchhas (towels) made from lightweight cotton.
Eager to expand her business, she has applied for a loan of INR 160,000 from Milaap's field partner, WeGrow. This loan will allow her to buy quality materials in bulk such as high-grade cotton, fabric, and needles, enabling her to produce more items.
Samsur leads a group of three women, all involved in income-generating activities, who also seek loans to grow their businesses. Your support will help these women improve their earnings and support their families, who will be grateful for your assistance.
