Valelima
A loan of $425 helps to pay for the freight fee of her tapa making export overseas for marketing.
Valelima's story
Greetings from Tonga. This is Valelima, she is married to a farmer and a mother of seven kids. Her kids, they all finished school.
She started this tapa making business in 2012 with the help of her husband. Currently, her husband works in their own farm, where he can grow and plant crops, vegetables and their own mulberry, which helps to minimize spending costs on buying mulberry. This tapa making business is the only source of income for this family.
Valelima joined a group of women in her village to make tapa. They can make the whole tapa and soft tapa as well. The whole tapa, they design with their own design, with different size and style. Once the tapa is finished, she prefers to export tapa to her relatives overseas for marketing. And the soft tapa she sells out here to the local people at an affordable price.
This time, she has plenty of tapa to export, but she doesn't have enough money to pay for the freight fee. This is why she applied for this loan to pay the freight fee. With this loan, she will be able to pay the freight fee to export her tapa overseas.
