Annet's story

Annet is a resident of a rural area of Matanda in Rukungiri. She is 39 years old and a single mother of four school-going children. She deals in an agricultural produce trade where she buys beans, maize, rice, groundnuts and peas during harvesting period when the prices are low, and keeps the produce and sells during the time of scarcity like planting season to earn more revenue. She has been in this business for 10 years and she has been able to keep her children in school and pay medical care. Her challenge has always been limited funds to expand her business and meet her customers' ever increasing demand. She has requested for funds to buy more sacks of beans, rice, maize, groundnuts and peas. She hopes her profitability margin will increase and she will be able to see her children continue studying to completion.
