Martin Nicolay's story

Martin, age 29, defines himself as a cheerful and hardworking man. He lives at his mother’s house along with his siblings. Martin is single and has no children. His main goal is to care for and provide for the welfare of his family, primarily his mother who is widowed.

Due to the lack of job opportunities, Martin took the initiative to begin working in agriculture. For the past six years, he has been cultivating mangoes of the Tommy Atkins variety. He obtained his first loan from VisionFund Ecuador in 2023 and used the money to buy supplies to maintain his crops. His goal is to continue growing the size of his crops so that he can generate sufficient capital to buy a transport vehicle for his work. He would also like another source of income since agriculture does not provide monthly earnings.

Martin aspires to keep working so that he can help his mother and siblings enjoy better living conditions.
