A loan of $3,425 helps to buy organic manure and set up a modern irrigation system for his bananas.
George's story
From Karo Karungi, Uganda, George is married with five children who live at home and go to school. He is a farmer who devotes his entire time to his farm in order to harvest good, quality bananas to sell.
However, George has struggled to support his family. Despite his hard work, he could barely harvest ten bunches of bananas a season, earning him only 50,000 UGX. He realized that his yields were low due to limited access to quality suckers, fertilizers, and modern farming tools.
George is now seeking a loan to modernize his farming techniques to better his farm’s output. With this loan he will buy organic manure and venture into modern irrigation farming so he can curb the challenge of excessive heat and sunshine. He hopes to grow quality bananas to fetch a better income for survival. Thank you, funders.
