A loan helped to buy embroidery equipment for her business.

Iman's story

Iman is a 45-year-old mother of three living in Baabda, Lebanon with her husband, who is unemployed, and her children, who work hard to help their parents cover the family's expenses.

Iman has been working in embroidery for more than 30 years. She learned the skill from her mother when she was still a teenager and has been improving it since. As a matter of fact, her clients appreciate her attention to detail and nice taste in preparing all her products.

For the first time, Iman is asking for a 1,542,733 Lebanese pound loan from Kiva partner Ibdaa. She will be using the loan to boost her business and improve her family's living conditions at the same time. In fact, she needs to upgrade her embroidery toolkit in addition to buying firewood and fuel oil for the winter season.

This loan is special because:

It doesn’t require a guarantor, reaching underserved women in Lebanon.
