A loan helped a member to buy rice seeds, organic pesticide and organic fertilizer to boost rice yields so she can keep sending her children to school.

Kimya's Group's story

A 31-year-old farmer in Banteay Meanchey province, Kimya is married and blessed with three dependent children, two of whom are in school while the other is under school age.

Kimya grows rice and vegetables to make a living. The challenges in the rice growing business are pests and weeds.

This will be her fourth cycle with VisionFund. Her past loans, which were paid back successfully, have enabled her to send her children to school and to buy more household supplies.

As the leader of a two-member group, Kimya will use her loan to buy rice seeds, organic pesticide and organic fertilizer to boost her rice yields. She hopes to get abundant yields to start up a new business and to keep sending her children to school.
