A loan helped a member for maintenance of coffee plants.

Grupo Xojola Escuela Group's story

A persevering and hard-fighting woman with big aspirations in life. This is Catarina, a 30 year old woman with a nice family. She has 2 children, aged eight and twelve. They live in a community in the Xojolá village.

Catarina (the first on the left in the photograph) works in coffee production, which she has been doing for 6 years. Catarina chose this activity because it generates a good income and allows her to give her family better living conditions.

Recently, she has seen the need to obtain a loan. For that reason, she is the leader of the "Xojola Escuela" group. She is requesting a loan which she will use for the maintenance of coffee plants.

Catarina has hopes for this loan to provide her crops with their maintenance, and have a good harvest.
