Flor is a young woman at 22 years old. She lives with her partner, has a 3-year-old daughter, and her business is the production of handmade key chains. She is fun, friendly, and very hardworking. Flor has dark skin, she is short, and has a medium build. Her native language is Aymara, which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Spanish because of the general culture and for her business. She shares her life with her partner who works in construction, and with her daughter that is still not old enough for school. They live in a rented room made of brick with a metal roof that has running water, electricity, and sewage.
Her business is the production of handmade key chains. Using her infinite imagination, she makes little dolls with button eyes, colored hair, and crazy shapes. She states, "All of my creations are different, just like people. Some are happy, others are bored, and some have scars like any other human being." Her business is successful because she makes sales at wholesale. The advantage of her business is that the customers come to her home to buy at wholesale in order to sell them in other cities. The disadvantage is the lack of work material such as yarn, leather, cloth, buttons, and other items.
Her dream is to improve her way of life. She wants to buy work materials to make key chains. This is her first loan with the institute in the four years that she has been in this business. It is for these reasons that Flor is requesting a loan to buy work material to make key chains for the end-of-the-year season.
