Chumi is 33 year old and comes from the Kamrup district of Assam. She is a widowed mother of two children. Bothl of them are attending local school in different grades. Besides being a housewife she also provides sewing services. She is the sole earner in the family. Therefore she works diligently to earn for her family with her sewing business. Currently she earns Rs. 3900 every month. She is worried that her current rate of earning would not help her sustain her family in the long run.
She wants to expand her business and increase her monthly earning. She will use the loan amount to purchase a sewing machine and raw materials to sew shirts, salwars, blouses, kurti and nighties etc. Chumi leads a group of 5 women – Babi, Ranju, Manju and Pramila.
Together they need a group loan to expand their respective businesses. They are grateful to their lenders for the financial support and encouragement.
