A loan helped to purchase seeds and seedlings for her horticulture business.

Tabitha's story

Tabitha is 41 and lives with her husband in Embu, northeast of Nairobi. They have one young son.

Tabitha has been involved in horticulture for a number of years, growing tomatoes and French beans. But to help provide for her son, she is keen to expand the business, increasing the quantity of vegetables she produces. She would also like to extend into dairy farming, to diversify the family’s income and reduce the risks from poor weather. She intends to use her Kiva loan to purchase seeds and seedlings for the horticulture business.

Tabitha’s long-term dream is to be able to buy a "shamba" (her own plot of land for growing vegetables). This will ensure she can send her son to school and help support the family.

Please help Tabitha and her family by contributing to her loan today.
