A loan helped to pay for dry goods, grocery items, and beverages for her store plus initial stock of LPGs for sale.

Marissa's story

This is Marissa, aged 39, from the city of Davao in Mindanao region. She is married to Allan, an electrician, with whom she has three children, one of them is in college and two are still in elementary level.

As her husband's salary is barely enough to raise a family of four, Marissa decided to run a small general store to help her husband make a living. She’s also an on-call beautician because she knows the basics of hair styling and make-up. Now she plans to venture into buy and sell of LPG as additional source of income.

With her drive to enhance her businesses, she applied for PHP 40,000 loan which she will use to pay for dry goods, grocery items, and beverages for her store plus initial stock of LPGs for resale. She trusts your good heart to support her with your financial assistance.

Marissa hopes to sustain and grow her businesses so she could send all her children to college. For her, education is the best inheritance that cannot be stolen from her children. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship members to share stories of her work every week; there she can also draw strength and inspiration from the Word of God.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital and pay Micro Finance loans.
