Kellen's story

Kellen is a repeat entrepreneur and well known farmer. She mainly deals in tea farming in Kigondo village, Kakanju parish, Busheny District. She started this business in 2005 and she has managed to sustain her family with it. She is married with four children, ages 16, 13, 10 and 7 years old. All of her kids are in school. She makes additional income from rearing goats and coffee farming. This has also helped her earn some good money to support her family. This is her second loan cycle from UGAFODE MDI. She has applied for a loan of shs 1,000,000 (one million shillings) to buy fertilizer for her tea farm to increase the yield and support her family. She is an honest lady in her business and she works hard to achieve more.

She sells to all coffee factories around Bushenyi District. She is faced with challenges from price fluctuations that affect the harvest. Her dream is to educate all of her children.
