A mother of one child living in Kratie province, Sokhuoen is 25 years old. She grows cassava and works as a laborer for others to support her family. Insects destroyed much the cassava on her farm, so it did not grow well.
She has been involved with her cassava for two years. For Sokhuoen, this is her second cycle with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She fully repaid her past loan which helped her family live better.
She is the group leader of her group of three. She will spend her entire loan portion to buy organic pesticide to support her cassava farm to increase yields. She hopes that she can earn more income to upgrade her living standard.
