A loan helped to buy fertilizer and seed to improve her yields.

Saley's story

A villager living in Kratie province, Saley is 47 years old. She is a mother of four children, three of whom are still in school.

To support her family, she grows cassava and makes wood charcoal to sell. Moreover, she can get extra income growing soybeans. Her cassava did not grow well in this year. She has farmed cassava for 29 years and makes only 11,200 KHR per day.

This is her first micro loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She will use her entire loan portion to buy fertilizer and seed to support better yields. She hopes that she can get a decent income from her cassava farm to improve her family's living conditions.
