Aun, 25, is a married mother residing in Kampong Cham province with three dependent children. One of them is in school and the other two are too young for schooling. Aun has been growing rice as the main source of the family’s income for seven years. She also makes palm sugar for supplemental income.
Aun's crop was destroyed by pests and it was not healthy enough to produce a good output. This is Aun’s first time with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner) and she is leading a group of three members in applying for a loan to save her business. Her portion of the loan will be used to buy rice seeds and organic fertilizers to increase crop yields. She hopes she can get more yields so as to improve the family's standard of living.
