A loan helped a member to buy fertilizer for her pepper farm to boost her yields.

Channeat's Group's story

A local resident living in Kampong Cham province’s Koh Sotin district, Channeat is 35-year-old mother of four children. For her living, she has been growing peppers and works for others for a fee for around 17 years. She is able to save around 25,000 KHR each day after offsetting her family expenses. Her crops have been destroyed by insects, which is the problem for her farming. For Channeat, this is her third loan with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner). She improved her living standard with her past loans. As the group leader, she will use her new loan portion to buy fertilizer for her pepper farming to boost her yields. She hopes that her business will provide her more income from this loan to improve her family’s living.
