Ramata's Group's story

The banc villageois was founded on July 11, 2008. This group just started its 13th loan cycle and is comprised of women who all live in the same village. They get along well and have good teamwork. Their primary activity is small business.

Madame Ramata (standing at right with her hand raised) is the star borrower of the group. She is 43 years old, married, and the mother of four children (two boys and two girls). She sells food items (palm oil, sugar, tea, peanut butter, and smoked fish).

With this new loan, she plans on buying: one 20-liter bottle of palm oil for 17,500 francs, one sack of sugar for 20,000 francs, one bucket of peanut butter for 11,000 francs, and six kilograms of smoked fish for 400 francs per kilogram. She will resell these for retail prices in her village.

With the income she earns, she will contribute to the household expenses and take care of the children (clothing, medical costs).

In this group: Ramata, Sattang, Adama, Gnary, Hady, Diola, Maimouna Alpha, Kadiatou Korka, Ansao, Djalika, Mariama, Coumba, Dienabou, Fily, Ramata Koulecounda, Mariama, Nialil, Kouta, Balaba, Diarra, Diabou, Oumou Awa, Souba Doro, Meta
