A loan helped to buy fertilizers and mulch for her farm.

Kellen's story

Kellen appreciates UGAFODE's and Kiva's support for bringing her to her current good status in the community.

Kellen has been a customer of UGAFFODE Microfinance for 10 years now. Being a local counsellor, Kellen has helped to preach the gospel of proper loan use and the benefits of financial institutions to community members, especially the women.

Kellen is a hardworking woman, resilient, and a community mobiliser in Biharwe, Mbarara. She is a farmer who has a banana plantation where she wants to buy manure, especially cow dung and grass, to mulch the area.

She has promised to use her banana plantation to get money to work on her house rentals, which are her major source of income. She is earning good money, which has helped her to educate her children as a single mother and also to maintain the property that her late husband left behind.

She will use the loan of UGX 5,000,000 to buy farm inputs in form of manure, which will help to increase her harvest as well as improve her yields, income, and profit.
