A loan helped a member buy lean rams to fatten and resell.

Jekafo Group's story

Sitan is the woman who is holding the ram's horn. She is an uneducated Malian housewife. She is a 53-year-old married mother of three children all in school, whose ages range from 12 to 27 years. Her husband is a farmer.

Since 2012 she has made use of RMCR to develop her sheep fattening business. She buys in different area markets and resells in neighboring areas.

With monthly profits estimated at thirty thousand francs (30,000 CFA francs) she manages to help her husband provide for the family (tuition fees, medical expenses, children's nutrition). Her dream is become a trader between Mali and Burkina Faso.

Generally speaking, loss of livestock and the lack of animal feed are the problems most encountered.
